Our entry in the Great Hot Dog Cook Off 2010
TurDogEn, a twist on the classic Turducken: chicken stuffed in hot dogs stuffed in turkey.
In our recipe, we started with a homemade spicy chicken sausage and stuffed it into 300 little hot dogs. We grilled the mini dogs and served it on a biscuit smothered in turkey gravy. Yum!
Sadly, we didn’t win this year. TurDogEn was amazing fresh off the grill, but by the time it got to the judges, it was a little cold and the gravy congealed. Ew. Oh well, it was a great fundraiser for City Harvest and we had a ton of fun. We’ll get ‘em next time!
